Workability
SUS 312L is a high strength stainless steel, boasting the same hot and cold workability of standard austenitic stainless steels like Type 304 and Type 316. Consider its strength when cold and hot working.
Weldability
Our SUS 312L metal offers excellent welding characteristics for various welding methods, such as shielded metal arc welding, TIG welding, and plasma welding. SUS 312L welding consumable ensures long-lasting weld strength and reliability.
Machinability
S31254 is a type of high Ni stainless steel that offers superior machinability compared to standard austenitic stainless steels and is easier to work with than Ni-based alloys. For optimal results, we recommend using an ultrahard tool and slower feed rate with deeper cutting depth.
Heat Treatment
SUS 312L stainless steel is an austenitic stainless steel featuring heat treatment and corrosion resistance similar to the standard austenitic stainless steels. Its robustness makes it ideal for industrial applications.
Pickling
SUS 312L has superior corrosion resistance, which makes pickling it with acid solutions difficult. Thus, pre-treat the material with an alkaline solution or opt for shot blasting to remove the scale for effective pickling.
Applications
The S31254 Applications offer reliable performance and corrosion protection in both marine structures and industrial settings. This stainless steel is resistant to corrosion from seawater environments, pulp and paper plants, and medical and pharmaceutical product plants, making it a versatile choice for long-term use.
