Specification, Chemical & Mechanical Performance
P530 is a high manganese chromium nitrogen non-magnetic steel. The high content of manganese and nitrogen helps to maintain a stable austenite structure and reduce magnetic permeability.
Chemical composition
Carbon (C) ≤ 0.05%
Manganese (Mn) 18.5%~20.0%
Chromium (Cr) 13.0%~14.0%
Molybdenum (Mo) 0.40%~0.60%
Nitrogen (N) 0.25% to 0.40%
Nickel (Ni) ≤ 2.0%
The remaining amount is iron (Fe).
Physical and mechanical properties
P530 has low magnetic permeability (relative magnetic permeability ≤ 0.04 μ T), almost no magnetic induction in strong magnetic fields, and high strength (yield strength ≥ 850MPa, tensile strength ≥ 950MPa), high hardness (Brinell hardness of about 300), excellent wear resistance, pitting corrosion resistance, and stress corrosion cracking resistance. Its dynamic mechanical strength and welding performance also perform well.
Main purpose
P530 is mainly used in the field of petroleum drilling, such as non-magnetic drill collars, MWD/LWD tool sheaths, rotary directional drilling tools, and stabilizers. Its non-magnetic properties can reduce interference with geological exploration instruments while meeting the requirements of high strength and corrosion resistance.
